Things to do after Breast lift surgery: Patient’s POV

Hi I had recently underwent Breast lift surgery with Dr. Chugh and had a good experience. When his team approached me to share my take on things I did follow after breast lift, I was thrilled. I am now 3 months post surgery and doing well.

My main aim was to get lift and reshape saggy breasts. 3 months back after undergoing a breast lift, I realized that it is important to take proper care of yourself to ensure a smooth recovery and long-lasting results.

 Here are some things I did after breast lift surgery:

1. Followed Dr. Chugh’s instructions : Dr. Chugh will provide you with specific instructions on how to care for yourself after breast lift surgery which may include wearing compression garments, avoiding strenuous activities, and taking prescribed medication. It is important to follow these instructions closely to ensure a safe and effective recovery.

2. Take proper rest: After breast lift surgery, it is important to give your body time to rest and recover. I took planned 5 days off plus weekend so a week off. It does help to reduce swelling and promote healing.

3. Incisions care: Incisions made during breast lift surgery may be slightly tender. It is important to keep them clean and dry to prevent infection. Dr. Chugh does a waterproof dressing and provides specific instructions on how to care for your incisions.

4. Wear garments: Wearing a surgical bra or compression garment after breast lift surgery is mandatory as they help to support your breasts and reduce swelling, aiding in the healing process.

5. Avoid heavy activity : For the first few weeks after breast lift surgery, it is important to avoid strenuous activities that may strain your chest muscles. This includes lifting heavy objects, exercise, and sexual activity for at least 6 weeks.

6. Attend follow-up: Dr. Chugh’s coordinator will schedule follow-up appointments to check your progress and ensure that your breasts are healing properly. Attending these appointments is important for ensuring the best possible results and catching any potential complications early on. The whole team is pretty diligent with following up.

In short, these were some of the things in my point of view which are must. Also ensure that you take good diet and eat healthy. Breast lift is a great surgery to help regain confidence and am glad that I underwent surgery at a place which ensured smooth sailing.
